Every word carries its reading
Tone-marked pinyin, not zhuyin.
- Traditional is a first-class choice, not a conversion pass over Simplified — the lessons are Taiwanese rather than transliterated, with 捷運 and LINE and 結帳, and a 注音符號 lesson that Simplified has no need of.
- Readings are tone-marked pinyin rather than zhuyin, which is a deliberate choice: pinyin is what most learners arrive already knowing.
- This is the one language without the bundled Vocab Builder catalogue yet — practice draws on the words you have looked up rather than on a shipped word list. Everything else works identically.

About Chinese (Traditional) in Soya
Is Traditional just Simplified run through a converter?
No. It is a separate language choice in Soya, with its own definitions, its own lessons and Taiwanese vocabulary — 捷運 rather than 地铁, LINE rather than 微信. The model writes Traditional; nothing is converted after the fact.
Why pinyin rather than zhuyin?
Because most learners arrive already reading pinyin, and a reading nobody can read helps nobody. It is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight — and there is a 注音符號 lesson in the bundled set for when you want it.
Is there a bundled word list for Traditional?
Not yet. Traditional has the 102 lessons and everything the reader does, but the Vocab Builder catalogue is Simplified, Japanese and Korean so far. Practice still works — it draws on the words you have looked up.
